It starts in the kitchen. For me, the kitchen is more than just a place of childhood memories, like standing on a step stool learning to mix cookie dough (but that sure was great). My first two jobs were in restaurant kitchens - some of Boston's best, in fact. The kitchen is where I learned to work with food, to taste, and ultimately to find joy in making something that gives people happiness.
Speaking of happiness... Chocolate. After those first kitchen jobs, I landed on a path of corporate routine. I found that a little chocolate in the middle of the day, and at the end of the day, and at other points throughout the day, changed my whole mindset. It made me happier, which made others happier. I like to think that it made me healthier too - in a holistic way at least.
WellFound is about sharing that happiness with as many people as possible. It's a chance for me to use the experiences in my own story, and build something that others can enjoy. Yes, you can buy fancy chocolate anywhere. WellFound is bigger than that. We hope that chocolate is only the beginning, but we have to start somewhere.
